A Quiet Month, A Loud Lesson

I hope you're all doing well!

This past month has been quieter on the ministry front, and if I'm honest, God has used that to expose something in my own heart.

Over the last little while, I've realised how easily I measure my worth by what I'm doing. Whether it's preaching, leading worship, seeing ministry fruit, or simply feeling like I'm making an impact, I can find myself believing that my value rises and falls with my performance.

God has been gently confronting that lie.

He's been reminding me that before I am a missionary, or anything else, I am His son. My identity isn't earned by how useful I am to Him, but secured by what Christ has already done for me. Ministry is not something I do to prove my value, but something I get to do because I already have it in Him.

That doesn't mean the struggle has disappeared overnight, but I am learning again that Jesus is inviting me to minister from a place of rest, not striving.

Perhaps you've found yourself in a similar place. Whether in ministry, work, parenting, or everyday life, it's so easy to tie our identity to our performance. My prayer has simply become, "Jesus, teach me to live as Your son before I try to serve as Your worker."

I'm grateful that God is far more interested in forming Christ in us than simply using us for His purposes.

Ministry Update

Although this month has been quieter in terms of ministry activity, it has still been full in other ways.

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of attending the Hebrides Revival Conference, a weekend filled with stories of what God has done in the past and encouragement to continue praying and contending for revival today. It was a timely reminder that the same God who moved powerfully before is still at work, and that our role is simply to remain faithful to Him. One of my biggest takeaways was that revival begins with us and with how we steward our relationship with God. If we long to see revival around us, we must first pursue Him wholeheartedly ourselves.

I also had the opportunity to travel to Milan during Fashion Week for outreach. It was a unique environment that provided countless opportunities for conversations, prayer, and sharing the hope of Jesus with people from many different nations and backgrounds. I'm continually amazed by how God meets people in such personal ways.

Last weekend, I spent a few days in Devon. While it wasn't a ministry trip, it was a much needed opportunity to rest, enjoy God's creation, spend intentional time with Him, and pray about this next season. It also became another opportunity for God to continue revealing and healing areas of brokenness in my own heart. I'm learning that rest isn't a distraction from ministry, it's part of how God sustains us for the work He's called us to.

Looking Ahead

The next few months are shaping up to be exciting and full.

At the end of July, we'll be running Neighbours and Nations Camp. Over five days, young people from across the UK, and many other nations, will gather to worship, pray, grow in God's Word, build lasting friendships, and encounter Jesus. Our heart is to see every young person discover their identity in Christ, experience His freedom, be equipped in His truth, and be commissioned to boldly share the Gospel.

One of the things I love most about camp is that it doesn't end there. Immediately afterwards, I'll be leading a team of young people to Durrës, Albania, where they'll have the opportunity to put into practice everything they've been learning by sharing the hope of Jesus through outreach and evangelism. It's always incredible to watch young people step out in faith and discover that God can work through them too.

Then, in September, I'll begin staffing Neighbours and Nations' School of Mobilisation. I'm really looking forward to discipling, training, and walking alongside young adults as we tour across the UK and Europe, equipping them to live missionally and boldly proclaim the Gospel wherever God leads them.

I would love your prayers over these next few months, for every young person attending camp, for our outreach in Albania, and that God would continue preparing my own heart for all that He has ahead.
