The Next Step of Faith

Six months at home have passed in a blur of change, beauty, and quiet testing. When I landed in Toronto, I was utterly spent, jet-lagged, clutching a Red Bull just to stay awake. Only days earlier, I had been walking beneath blooming cherry trees in England, with gardens alive with daffodils and tulips.

Toronto felt like a stark contrast, spring behind me, winter ahead. Yet even in the cold, God met me at every step, reminding me why I’m on this journey of faith and ministry.

The months that followed were full of contrasts. Joyful reunions with family and friends blended with quiet mornings where the weight of transition pressed heavily. Fundraising, local ministry, and settling back into life kept me running, but God’s faithfulness never wavered. Even in fatigue, He used me to serve, encourage, and share hope.

There were countless gifts: Brooklyn’s wedding, a men’s retreat with my dad, evenings at the Canadian National Exhibition, and laughter with old friends. In a season when the community I had come to know in England was gone, God brought new people to walk alongside me. Each encounter reminded me that His plans stretch far beyond what I can see.

Returning to London now, the flowers I had left behind are gone, replaced by crisp autumn air. Many mornings I’ve asked myself, What have I done? Why have I moved across the world? God, was this what You asked me to do? Am I crazy?

This past week, as I have been praying and reading, I have been struck by how every step forward with Jesus comes with a cost, but it is always worth it. When I ask myself if giving up everything for Him is worth it, the answer is yes.

John Wimber wrote, “From time to time the Lord challenges us to make new commitments. He lets us know that he wants us to give up something we are successful at and begin doing something we don’t yet know anything about, maybe something we don’t like. The economy of the kingdom of God is quite simple. Every new step in the kingdom costs us everything we have gained to date. Every time we cross a new threshold, it costs us everything we now have. Every new step may cost us all the reputation and security we have accumulated up to that point. It costs us our life. A disciple is always ready to take the next step. If there is anything that characterizes Christian maturity, it is the willingness to become a beginner again for Jesus Christ. It is the willingness to put our hand in his hand and say, ‘I’m scared to death, but I’ll go with you. You’re the Pearl of great price.’”

Leaving England in the spring and returning in the autumn feels like a full circle, one chapter closing, another unfolding. What began with blooming flowers and ended in falling leaves reminds me that seasons always change, but God’s faithfulness never does. Whatever lies ahead, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

As I take this next step of faith, I am reminded that giving up everything for the Pearl of great price is worth it all, and as I trust Him, He will be my guide.

Highlights from the Past Month

  • Jesus Fest – Many encountered Jesus for the first time, experienced freedom and healing, others were baptized, and many others rededicated their lives.

  • Poland – Returning to minister among many of the people I met in March and celebrating, my friend, Szymon’s birthday reminded me how God weaves relationships across nations.

Prayer Points

  • Upcoming Ministry Tours – Pray for open doors as I travel over the next three months to Burgess Hill, Bradford, Norwich, Cardiff, London, Leeds, and parts of mainland Europe. Pray that hearts will be ready to receive Jesus and that the Holy Spirit will move in mighty power throughout our ministry.

  • Life in Harpenden – Pray that I settle back in well and continue growing in wisdom and boldness to serve others effectively.

Thank you for walking alongside me in this journey, for your prayers, and for your support. Every step of this path, whether joyful or challenging, reminds me that God is faithful, and your partnership allows His work to continue. I am excited to see what He will do in this next season and excited to share it with you.

Blessings,

Cameron
